Flash Exhibit

In the first two weeks of the season, guests can view a special Flash Exhibit where some of Hyde Hall’s clothing collections are making a rare appearance. Visitors can only see the original garments—including an 1830s gown, a butler’s outfit, a hunting coat, and a livery uniform until June 13th

Hyde Hall expresses its deepest gratitude to all Bassett Network employees and volunteers for their hard work and care for our community throughout the Covid-19 pandemic by offering free admission for the month of June (Bassett Network IDs or proof of employment required).

Album Release Celebration for
Hyde Hall and the Silver Goddess:
Operatic Brilliance of Auber, Bellini, Meyerbeer & Rossini from the Drawing Room
Listen to live performances from the album and hear directly from the artists as they discuss their process. You’ll learn how they explored the archives, transcribed works, and recreated some of the lost music. Following a lively discussion and concert, there will be a tribute to project supporters and a lighting ceremony in the Grand Staircase Hall.

June 25 | 7:30 PM 
The Ship’s Captain
This 1817 singspiel parodies famous pieces of Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, and popular German folk songs. Performed in one act, the comic work describes the mishaps and hijinx of two sisters, their guardian, and a mysterious suitor, featuring Joelle Lachance (mezzo-soprano), and Yvonne Trobe (soprano), and Charles Eaton (baritone).

Summer Ghost Tours
Come hear tales of the frightful and mysterious happenings in the shadowy corridors of the historic mansion. On this hour-long, guided tour, you might discover what terrorized James Fenimore Cooper Jr. in the middle of the night, and maybe you’ll spot what stalks the notorious back hall—are you brave enough to enter the house after dark?
• $20 Adult, $15 Youth (age 10-17), reservations required  BUY TICKETS
• Extended periods of walking and climbing stairs are required.

July 23rd | 7:30 PM
George Templeton Strong and the Clarkes
This event features guest artist and violinist, Jorg-Michael Schwarz, alongside the Musicians of Ma’alwyck. George Templeton Strong chronicled the musical scene in early America in his diaries. His sons were friends of the Clarke family and spent time at Hyde Hall. A string trio of Strong’s son, a well-respected composer, is coupled with music of Antonín Dvořák. Readings from Strong’s detailed diaries paint a picture of musical life in America.

Robin & Linda Williams
Join Hyde Hall for a night of folk music and entertainment. The sounds of rural America are explored through the warm vocal harmonies and acoustic guitar-driven arrangements of Virginia-based husband-and-wife duo Robin and Linda Willaims.  Major musical appearances include “The Grand Ole Opry” and ” A Prairie Home Companion.”

SEPTEMBER

September 10 | 6 PM
CANCELLED – The Full Clarke Experience Special Concert and Dinner Fundraising Event
The Musicians of Ma’alwyck provide an evening of flute and violin music from Hyde Hall’s collection that pairs perfectly with a sit-down dinner whose dishes are meticulously recreated from menus in the archives. Pretend for an evening that you’re one of the Clarkes. Tickets to attend only the concert will be available (formal attire is required for participants at dinner).

One Night Only – Ghost Hunt with Orange County NY Paranormal

Join the Orange County NY Paranormal team to discuss their evening at Hyde Hall. A presentation on approach, methodology, and equipment used in paranormal investigations. Accompanied by a ghost hunt of the estate.

Hyde & Shriek! Candlelight Ghost Tours

Lit by candlelight, this guided tour takes you within the chambers of the 200-year-old mansion to explore the eerie places where ghostly apparitions have dwelt for over two centuries. You might catch a glimpse of the restless souls confined to the shadows of history as you listen to haunting tales in the old mansion—a must-do on your autumn wish list! BUY TICKETS
