Over 200 Attend 2016 Garden Party

On Saturday, May 7, 2016, mothers and their families received a special treat at Hyde Hall’s Celebrate Mom! Garden Party that took place inside the mansion as well as outside on the east lawn. Over 200 guests enjoyed tea & treats in the Dining Room, Maypole dancing, free guided tours, a cappella singing, and informative lectures and readings. Matthew Zwissler donated a fantastic cake that was thoroughly enjoyed by all!

Textile History Forum 2016 – Focus on Window Treatments

Textile experts, aficionados, Hyde Hall staff and volunteers all greatly benefited from the expertise of Rabbit Goody and Dr. Jill Maney at the Textile History Forum held at Hyde Hall on April 29th through May 1st.  Participants spent the weekend examining period fabrics, trim and gilt valances with the aim of determining the best plan to restore the incredible window treatments that graced the windows in Hyde Hall’s magnificent Drawing and Dining Rooms in the early 1830s.
