Brass Bottle Jack
A bottle jack (also known as a roasting jack), was used in cooking to hold and rotate roasts over a fire for even cooking. This one from our collections at Hyde Hall includes the Warranted Maker’s Mark of John Linwood from Birmingham, England whose device of a tree was registered in 1807.
