Stone Cottage

Hyde Hall, East Springfield, New York

In the early 1850s George Clarke, Jr. (1822-1889) established a large apple orchard for over 1,000 trees, adding apricot, plum, cherry, and peach trees in 1856. The stone cottage was built to house his gardener next to the orchard.
